Services > Ariba Upgrades > 9r1 Upgrade Assessments Details

9r1 Upgrade Assessments can include any of the following service offerings:

  • Business Process Mapping to Ariba 9r1 – Shelby will evaluate current processes and recommend areas for improvement to move towards best practices.

  • End user Impact Analysis – Shelby will review end user concerns and help identify areas of the upgrade that can be used to increase user acceptance and compliance with the system.

  • Global Rollout Impact – If you are still rolling out to additional end users as part of global or domestic rollouts, the increased load will be evaluated in the new Ariba 9r1 system.

  • New Module Implementation / New functionality – If you are planning to add new functionality to your spend management footprint in Ariba 9r1 through new modules or additional functionality, Shelby will evaluate the impact of these changes to current customizations and upgrade timelines and dependencies.

  • Customization Analysis / Code Deprecation Review – Over time, customizations implemented in the system become less efficient as they are combined with new customizations and new developers making code adjustments.  Shelby’s assessment will evaluate what code can be deprecated and what code needs to be standardized to improve system performance and end user experience.

  • Architecture Infrastructure Review – An upgrade is a good time to evaluate hardware upgrades and architecture setup.  During the assessment, Shelby will evaluate your current Ariba infrastructure to improve performance, fail-over processes, instance/variant/partition consolidations or standardization and multi-server / multi-node options.  Shelby’s recommendations can be reviewed by your architects and planned to be implemented in conjunction with the upgrade.

  • System Maintenance / Administration Impact – The upgraded system will introduce changes in how the system will need to be maintained and administered in the future.  As part of Shelby’s assessment, current maintenance and administration practices will be reviewed and evaluated with the new processes in 9r1.
