Upgrading a Premier Financial Lender on 9r1

Understanding the Value of 9r1

Shelby got off the ground running by providing a combination of technical and change management resources to the Company project team.  As with other 9r1 upgrades, and critical to beginning the technical aspects of any Ariba upgrade, Shelby engaged the Company in completing a detailed gap-fit analysis of the existing environment.  Shelby’s effort here included –

• Comparing the 9r1 functionality to 8.2, and providing feedback on how changes would affect current customizations and future initiatives.
  
• Creating a plan for areas of risk for the upgrade based on the experience and Company’s existing Ariba environment.
  
• Coordinating with the Company business process improvement team to remove, update and simplify customizations for improving business processes.  Any identified changes required in customizations were incorporated into the overall project plan for the upgrade.
• Conducting a thorough review, assessment, and recommendation of how to approach the usage of File Channel, Integration Toolkit, and Web Services with the removal of TIBCO.
