    Matt Arett is a practitioner with a concentrated background in leading finance technology programs. He has held lead positions in several financial institutions providing the essential combination of a functional narrative to technology transformations.

    As the VP of Operations at The Shelby Group, Matt oversees all operational aspects including Accounting, IT, Legal and HR. Matt joined Shelby in 2022 after a long tenure as the founder of his own consulting business where he helped clients migrate into major financial systems. Before this, he was the Director of Procurement at KCG Holdings, Inc. where he created a new procurement process and selected solutions to achieve year over year savings.

    Matt has a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA in Finance & Operations Management from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

  • Kelly Patterson
    Vice President, Client Services

    Kelly Patterson is a procurement strategy and operations expert with 20 years of experience crafting strategic plans for technology, people and process-driven transformations. Kelly is a highly qualified leader adept at client cultivation and aligning programmatic and operational priorities. Kelly has worked in both industry and major consultancies for the duration of her career and provides exceptional perspectives on her client’s behalf along with industry experts.

    As VP of Client Services at Shelby, Kelly shares responsibility for the delivery organization in addition to steering program and offering development. Kelly has spent the bulk of her career leading high profile transformations across multiple platforms including Coupa, Ariba, SAP and Oracle.

    Kelly attended the University of Waikato and with a Bachelor of Management Studies (Hons).

  • Archit Singh
    Managing Director, Digital Assets

    Archit Singh is a seasoned procurement professional with over 18 years of industry experience. With his knowledge and skillset, he is able to successfully lead complex global rollouts with varying requirements. As a Managing Director at The Shelby Group, Archit acts as a partner to our clients’ executive leadership teams, serves as the final point of escalation and drives solutions for complex issues.

    Archit has successfully supported and implemented various procurement applications for both Coupa and Ariba. He specializes in projects in the banking and professional solutions industries and leads projects that require complex solutions, intensive testing, international exposure and collaborations with third parties.

    A member of the delivery leadership team, Archit is responsible for mentoring and supporting team members to ensure team growth and facilitating changes as The Shelby Group continues to expand. In addition to his project oversight responsibilities, he also supports the sales team by acting as an SME for Coupa, estimating work effort and reviewing statements of work for prospective clients.

    Managing Director

    Nomare Sattar is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the consulting field. Nomare started at The Shelby Group in 2012 as a senior consultant and has become an expert in Coupa and Ariba implementations. In his current role as a Managing Director, he serves as a strategic advisor and offers unique, specialized perspectives and solutions throughout the configuration processes of our clients’ procurement platforms.

    Nomare has a wealth of Coupa experience that spans 50 countries and five continents. This experience has given him the unique expertise necessary to provide procurement thought leadership specific to complex global, legal, tax and invoice compliance throughout client platform implementations. 

    During his time in the consulting field, Nomare has developed a deep understanding and mastery of best practices in global procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, international marketing, administrative management and financial practices. He uses this knowledge and skillset to achieve operational efficiency and identify savings and value opportunities for clients.

  • Charles Barlow
    Managing Director, Advanced Platform Practice

    When Charles Barlow joined The Shelby Group, he brought a level of expertise that could only be gleaned from a rich professional background in technology and team management. He is now the Managing Director of Advanced Platform Practices, a delivery organization system specializing in complex technical implementations that carry additional project management objectives.

    With over a decade of experience in project management, change management, upstream strategic design and third-party risk management, Charles leverages his industry knowledge to provide expert procurement thought leadership for our clients. He regularly works with key stakeholders to define project requirements, achieve objectives and ensure success. Charles also acts as the final decision maker regarding the configurations of clients’ procurement environments.

    Charles has extensive project implementation experience in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, financial services, federal services and professional services industries. These projects have all successfully leveraged e-procurement systems to transform the procurement process and better manage organizational spend or risk.

  • Mo El-Ammori
    Director

    Mo El-Ammori joined The Shelby Group in 2013 as an associate consultant and has become an asset to Shelby’s delivery team. Now, as a Director, Mo uses his subject matter expertise to lead implementations of e-procurement platforms for a diverse portfolio of clients.

    During his time at Shelby, Mo has led nearly 40 projects spanning a variety of industries. These projects have ranged from standard Coupa implementations and e-procurement platform selection consulting to highly customized solutions. Mo’s diverse experience has benefitted Shelby clients in the manufacturing, finance, media and life science industries.

    Mo has developed a comprehensive understanding of the transformational power of procurement and e-procurement platforms. This understanding is what makes him an outstanding procurement thought leader when working on client projects. Mo offers strategic Coupa-centric design and organizational advice that caters to our clients’ specific goals and needs. He provides expert advice for platform configuration and process adjustments, and his recommendations have led to millions of dollars in savings for our clients.

    Board Member

    Greg Thomas is a General Partner at WestView Capital Partners and a member of the board of directors at The Shelby Group. Westview made a strategic investment Shelby in 2020.

    Greg joined WestView in 2012. He focuses on investments in the IT services, software and business services sectors. Prior to joining WestView, he worked at Berkshire Partners and DW Healthcare Partners, where he focused on investments in the business services, healthcare and consumer sectors. Prior to joining Berkshire, Greg worked at Party City Corporation, a Berkshire Partners portfolio company, where he focused on strategy and acquisitions. Greg started his career at Bain & Company.

    Greg received his B.A. in Economics from Wesleyan University and his MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth, where he graduated as a Tuck Scholar with distinction.

    Vice President of Sales, High-Growth Sectors

    Dave Nakai is Vice President of Sales for high-growth market sectors. With two decades of experience in the procurement field, he manages a team of account executives covering the central and western regions of the US and Canada. Prior to joining Shelby, Dave led a team of Ariba platform implementation specialists at USinternetworking/AT&T.

    During his 12 years at Shelby, Dave has led successful procurement transformations for clients in financial services, banking, life sciences, retail, the public sector and technology. He began his career at Shelby in the delivery organization as a consultant, then moving over to sales as a Solutions Engineer, conducting scoping sessions and developing proposals and engagement plans. Dave’s background in procurement, finance and accounting and his customer-centric approach to problem solving made the transition to a sales leadership role a natural career progression. His extensive knowledge of the procurement ecosystem and passion for enabling digital transformation for emerging growth companies have earned Dave a reputation as an industry thought leader.

    Dave holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

    VP of Sales, Digital Invoice

    Jeff is a seasoned sales leader with a 13-year track record of success in the Source-to-Pay (S2P) industry. He is responsible for driving the global strategy and growth of Shelby’s Digital Invoice line of business. He has led multiple high-growth teams in the S2P software platform space and has been a key advisor to some of the world’s largest companies in how to successfully execute their procurement transformation strategy.

    Prior to coming to Shelby, Jeff held a variety of critical roles across Ariba and SAP including Vice President of Sales and Co-Chairman of SAP’s Intelligent Spend Management Council.

  • Dave King
    Executive Vice President, Sales

    Dave King is the Executive Vice President, Sales for The Shelby Group. He is responsible for all sales activities in the East and South-Central US.

    Dave has extensive senior management experience in the procurement industry. He has led several procurement groups and global transformations resulting in significant business impacts effecting both commercial and organizational transformations.

    Prior to Shelby, Dave King managed procurement teams in the manufacturing, consumer goods and distribution industries. As a management consultant, Dave King has facilitated and directed global strategic sourcing programs and initiatives for a multitude of Fortune 500 companies.

    Initially, Dave King held a role as a Principal with The Shelby Group, managing the deployment for a number of global eProcurement solutions. He was responsible for managing Shelby’s key strategic accounts, while participating in client executive steering committees and advancing partnerships leveraging his broad range of experience in combining procurement values with authentic strategy to create concrete benefits for his clients.

  • Arnaud Colignon
    Head of Digital Invoice

    With over two decades of experience in finance, international business and C-Suite procurement leadership, Arnaud joined The Shelby Group in 2019. He uses his industry expertise to lead the strategic development, deployment and continuous improvement of Digital Invoice, Shelby’s smart invoice processing tool.

    Arnaud supervises the operations of our Digital Invoice team to achieve key metrics of quality and on-time delivery. He provides strategic guidance, thought leadership and transformation advocacy and develops best practice suggestions for our clients and Digital Invoice team during product implementations.

    With his corporate and international business experience, Arnaud is an expert in P2P, accounts payable and corporate finance best practices, and he acts as an advisor for a wide spectrum of business processes for our clients at The Shelby Group. His guidance has resulted in stronger and cleaner master data records and streamlined purchasing processes for our clients.

  • Julie Floyd
    Vice President, Client Services

    With over 20 years of software implementation experience in business spend management and thought leadership across multiple platforms, Julie provides a unique perspective to our clients. She has extensive experience across a broad spectrum of Source-to-Pay and finance functions including Sourcing, Contracts Management, Procurement, Supplier Management, eInvoicing and Data Analytics. She excels in solutioning for complex business processes and resolving difficult project issues to produce successful outcomes for her clients. Julie focuses on ensuring our projects meet the client’s business objectives and success criteria through guidance on procurement strategies and best practices aligned with technology.

    As VP of Client Services at Shelby, Julie is responsible for delivering quality results by advocating for continual improvement through collaboration and innovation. She has spent the majority of her career managing and delivering successful transformations on a variety of platforms including Coupa, Ariba, iValua, and PeopleSoft.

    Julie attended the University of Illinois and has a B.S. in Accountancy.

  • Steve Gulyas
    Vice President of Sales, Enterprise

    Steve Gulyas joined The Shelby Group in 2015 to assist with global business development. With a diversified background and experience within a multitude of industries, his ultimate goal is providing long-lasting and meaningful partnerships with clients.

    Steve’s focus is on complex global implementations aligned with Procurement Program Optimization to bring measurable business value to Shelby’s customers. His responsibilities include overall global business development, management, recruitment, marketing and alignment with software partners.

    During his tenure with Shelby, he has helped over 50 clients achieve their procurement targets for long-term programmatic outcomes.

    Steve is a graduate of DePaul University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.

  • Venkatachalapathi Madheswaran
    Head of Engineering Technology

    Venkatachalapathi Madheswaran (also known as Venkat) is the Head of Engineering Technology at The Shelby Group. Within his role, he is responsible for overseeing the engineering team, planning resources for technical projects, and defining and reviewing all best practices and guidelines for his department.

    Venkat also serves as the Principal Integration Architect at Shelby. He carefully guides the team in providing architecture, solutions and dataflow mechanisms for Source-to-Pay Platform integration with ERPs and other systems.

    Along with his other responsibilities, he also handles Product Management for Shelby’s Digital Invoice™ and CTX™ tools. Venkat manages the overall lifecycle for these products – preparation, demo, build, deployment, and maintenance. He is also responsible for the server hosting on AWS – server sizing and set up, production deployments, upgrade cycle, and disaster recovery.

    As a Technology Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a wide variety of topics, Venkat has designed and created several crucial tools for Shelby including the following:

    •  Designed and built an integration between Coupa and different tax engines like Avalara, Vertex, OneSource
    •  Managed, designed, built and delivered integration between Coupa and SAP using PIPO
    •  Managed, designed, built and delivered integration between Coupa and Oracle
    •  Designed and built an integration between two supplier network hubs
    •  Aided in the design, build and continual improvement of Shelby’s Digital Invoice

    Venkat joined The Shelby Group in 2012. He has a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science degree from Shanmugha College of Engineering.

  • John Dreyer
    Co-Founder and Board Member

    John Dreyer served as President and Co-Founder of The Shelby Group from March of 2010 to March of 2021. In that time, the company grew from 10 employees to over 170 and conducted business with the Global 2000 in over 90 countries. In March of 2021, John had a serious ski accident. He stepped away from Shelby to focus on his recovery. He still serves Shelby as a member of its board.

  • Jim Kandilas, CPA
    CEO

    Jim Kandilas is a leading innovator in the procurement industry. He founded The Shelby Group in 2002 with the aim of disrupting the systems integrator space by differentiating quantifiable business outcomes rather than bill rates.

    As Chief Executive Officer of The Shelby Group, Jim sets and leads the company’s strategic vision. Shelby’s mission is to drive business results through the careful alignment of procurement strategies, processes and technologies. Jim plays a key role in defining Shelby’s overall roadmap to serve clients and their desired outcomes for procurement optimization.

    Jim also participates in client executive steering committees and advances client partnerships through continuous education and involvement as an industry thought leader. He has an accounting degree from Northern Illinois University and began his career at Morgan Stanley as a process and systems auditor, focusing on banking and regulatory audits. Jim expanded his experience in management by consulting for PWC before becoming part of the executive management team at a boutique procurement consultancy.

  • Ted King
    Principal

    Ted King joined The Shelby Group in 2014. As a Principal, he plays a key role in creating value for clients by developing deep partnership with Executive Leadership to provide advisory services and strategic direction based on years of experience in global procurement transformation.

    During his time at Shelby, Ted has successfully driven Global Procurement Transformations across 5 continents and dozens of countries for multiple Fortune 500 clients.

    Ted’s specialties include global platform program transformations, complex integrations/procurement processes as well as “Phase 0” road-mapping, software selection and executive advisory services.

    Ted has implemented against Fortune 50 standard ERPs including SAP, Oracle and People Soft. He focuses heavily on driving business continuity and “Day-One Critical” processes and technology within heavily-constrained timelines due to M&A business events.

    Ted is a graduate of DePaul University where he received his Bachelor of Science. Prior to joining Shelby, he served other organizations as a Business Process Analytics Manager and Business Intelligence Architect.

  • Kelly Carpenter
    Head of Procurement Operations

    Kelly A. Carpenter (often referred to as KC) joined The Shelby Group in 2017. As the Head of Procurement Operations, she is responsible for overseeing the Procurement Operations department in support of Shelby’s client portfolio, including several Fortune 500 global companies with annual account values of $50M+.

    Kelly supports clients by engaging procurement solutions through setting up and maintenance of their chosen platform. Using her strong drive for leadership, project management, and customer service skills, she oversees the team that is responsible for supplier enablement, catalog enablement, core support services, training, sourcing, and release management for cloud-based software solutions.

    In addition, Kelly became Shelby’s first internal Coupa Certification Trainer in 2018. She now hosts regular training sessions to certify and onboard members of the Shelby team. She also created a 3-pronged development program that is used to upskill Procurement Operations staff.

    Kelly has earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida State University, a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of North Florida, a Master’s of International Business from Université de Provence and a Master’s of Multicultural Communication from Fachhochschule Koeln.
