Lessons from the field: Planning for Success with SaaS in eProcurement
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is one of the hottest topics under the sun in information technology. With the rate of SaaS adoption on the rise, business is embracing on-demand technology as a means to adopt technology in a "new way", essentially eliminating the need to purchase and upgrade software, and the hardware needed to run it. Shelby has noted that those implementing a SaaS/On-Demand application at times are sold the promise of an easier implementation than behind-the-firewall, but are ill-prepared for managing unanticipated complexities encountered during a SaaS deployment.
