    President and CEO

    John Dreyer brings a unique combination of Fortune 500 management and entrepreneurial leadership experience to his role as President and CEO of The Shelby Group.

    From his vantage point as a finance expert, business executive, information systems practitioner and industry leader, John offers a multidisciplinary perspective on the challenges faced by Shelby’s clients. He has, for example, been instrumental in helping to drive transformation initiatives for clients in a wide variety of industry sectors, including financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, entertainment and global humanitarian relief. John maintains an active and ongoing dialogue with senior leaders at Shelby client organizations, technology partners and industry groups. Insights from these experiences and relationships have been instrumental in shaping the evolution of Shelby’s services, partnerships, thought leadership and growth.

    John’s diverse career experience includes executive positions for Bank of America, AT&T and Renaissance, a global consulting firm. In 1999, John founded SkilGroup, a company that he nurtured to become one of the fastest growing IT staffing companies in the nation. Indecon Solutions acquired SkilGroup in 2010. John has also served as Board Chairman and President of TechServe Alliance, the IT Services industry’s leading association.

    John earned his bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Cum Laude, from Washington State University where he was a four-year letter winner as a member of the Cougar football team.

  • Jim Kandilas, CPA
    Executive Vice President

    Jim Kandilas is a seasoned veteran and leading innovator in the procurement industry. He founded The Shelby Group in 2002 with the expectation to disrupt the systems integrator space by differentiating on quantifiable business outcomes rather than bill rates.

    As Executive Vice President of The Shelby Group, Jim plays a key role in helping clients translate their visions for Procurement Optimization into business results through the careful alignment of procurement strategies, processes and technologies.

    Responsible for global oversight of client success, he leads and participates in client executive steering committees and advances client partnerships through continuous education and involvement as an industry thought leader.

    Jim has an Accounting Degree from Northern Illinois University and he began his career at Morgan Stanley as a process and systems auditor, focusing on banking and regulatory audit. Shortly thereafter, Jim expanded his experience in management consulting for PWC before becoming part of the executive management team at a boutique procurement consultancy.

  • John Yih-Jung Hu
    VP Client Services

    John Hu has been in the Procurement & Supply Chain Management industry since 1999. John’s strategic and technology leadership have played a key role in helping a diverse list of Fortune 500 clients achieve bottom-line results with their Procurement Optimization initiatives.

    John’s numerous innovations include development of best practices for Spend Analytics implementation, utilizing a baseline to drive enterprise-wide performance improvement. His knowledge of upstream and downstream processes spans the breadth of the procurement lifecycle. With a focus on strategy and bottom-line results, John is a champion of Source-to-Pay technology, with firsthand implementation and audit experience for procurement organizations across a wide variety of industries. John is also one of the inventors of The Shelby Group’s groundbreaking Digital Invoice™ product.

    As VP of Client Services for The Shelby Group, John has drawn on his vast field experience, knowledge and vision to build an exceptional delivery organization and a culture of high-performance managers, consultants and developers. John holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois.

  • Julie Floyd
    Principal

    Julie Floyd is a Principal with The Shelby Group. She provides strategic guidance to clients through project and deployment planning, thought leadership, transformation advocacy and best practice expertise for procurement and supply chain management.

    Julie joined The Shelby Group in 2006. She has overall accountability for the successful delivery of projects by her team including functioning as the escalation point for all types of issues. She also assists in scoping and estimating sales opportunities. In addition, she provides career guidance and mentoring to junior resources at Shelby.

    Julie has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from The University of Illinois. Her specialties include project management, accounting, asset management, communication, risk mitigation and issues resolution.

  • Archit Singh
    Principal

    Archit Singh is a Principal with The Shelby Group. He is responsible for project delivery, account management and strategic direction for clients. He also plays a key role in the mentorship of Shelby’s team members.

    Since joining The Shelby Group in 2012, Archit has spent years helping clients create solutions at a program level. Archit views projects with a tactical thought process that allows him to solve complex business problems for clients.

    Some of his custom designs for clients have included: a first of its kind Supplier Information Onboarding integration from a cloud platform to Oracle, a custom solution within a cloud S2P platform to support critical business need for a client with minimal impact to the end users across the globe, and a guided buying experience for a client while staying with P2P boundaries.

    Archit holds a Bachelor of Science from Delhi University and he specializes in global program and platform implementations including complex business processes with specialized integration needs. He has implemented P2P platforms with leading ERP’s including but not limited to, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite and JD Edwards.

  • Ted King
    Principal

    Ted King joined The Shelby Group in 2014. As a Principal, he plays a key role in creating value for clients by developing deep partnership with Executive Leadership to provide advisory services and strategic direction based on years of experience in global procurement transformation.

    During his time at Shelby, Ted has successfully driven Global Procurement Transformations across 5 continents and dozens of countries for multiple Fortune 500 clients.

    Ted’s specialties include global platform program transformations, complex integrations/procurement processes as well as “Phase 0” road-mapping, software selection and executive advisory services.

    Ted has implemented against Fortune 50 standard ERPs including SAP, Oracle and People Soft. He focuses heavily on driving business continuity and “Day-One Critical” processes and technology within heavily-constrained timelines due to M&A business events.

    Ted is a graduate of DePaul University where he received his Bachelor of Science. Prior to joining Shelby, he served other organizations as a Business Process Analytics Manager and Business Intelligence Architect.

  • Kristin Demas
    Principal

    Kristin Demas is a Principal at The Shelby Group. Since joining the company in 2014, she has excelled at solving complex problems for clients. By asking questions, doing research and creating designs, Kristin has created overarching P2P processes that are easy to use and produce accurate reporting for a wide variety of clients.

    As a Principal, Kristin is responsible for account management for her project teams. She is also heavily involved in the mentorship and development of internal reports.

    Because she previously worked on the “client-side” of procurement, Kristin brings a unique perspective to the role of Principal. She has a first-hand understanding of pain points and challenges that our clients are experiencing. This allows her to bring precision and a level of balance to every engagement.

    Kristin has a Bachelors Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Roosevelt University and a Certified Purchasing Manager – Lifetime Certification.

  • Mo Fakhar
    Practice Lead Advanced Platform Practice

    Mo Fakhar is the Practice Leader of Shelby’s Advanced Platform Practice (APP).

    He is a proven leader in SaaS procurement technologies focused on business outcomes to drive customer programs for procurement digitization. Mo has 18 years of experience with procurement optimization and digitization that spans the entire source-to-pay process including spend analytics. He has worked with several Fortune 500 clients to help them achieve program goals towards automation and digitization of their procurement processes.

    Mo’s experience also includes helping financial services clients to develop strategies for adoption of SaaS solutions in data science, analytics, AI/ML and cognitive computing.

    As a leader of AP practice at The Shelby Group, Mo draws from his experience with delivery, sales & customer success to enable clients to effectively adopt platforms and implement procurement programs.

    Prior to joining Shelby in 2018, Mo spent 16 years at IBM collaborating with customers on their procurement transformation journeys, AI & digitization. Mo taps into his experience from a career that spans management consulting and practice leadership. He brings a unique mix of experience that spans delivery, customer success and platform adoption.

    Mo holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from University of Georgia.

  • Venkatachalapathi Madheswaran
    Head of Engineering Technology

    Venkatachalapathi Madheswaran (also known as Venkat) is the Head of Engineering Technology at The Shelby Group. Within his role, he is responsible for overseeing the engineering team, planning resources for technical projects, and defining and reviewing all best practices and guidelines for his department.

    Venkat also serves as the Principal Integration Architect at Shelby. He carefully guides the team in providing architecture, solutions and dataflow mechanisms for Source-to-Pay Platform integration with ERPs and other systems.

    Along with his other responsibilities, he also handles Product Management for Shelby’s Digital Invoice™ and CTX™ tools. Venkat manages the overall lifecycle for these products – preparation, demo, build, deployment, and maintenance. He is also responsible for the server hosting on AWS – server sizing and set up, production deployments, upgrade cycle, and disaster recovery.

    As a Technology Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a wide variety of topics, Venkat has designed and created several crucial tools for Shelby including the following:

    •  Designed and built an integration between Coupa and different tax engines like Avalara, Vertex, OneSource
    •  Managed, designed, built and delivered integration between Coupa and SAP using PIPO
    •  Managed, designed, built and delivered integration between Coupa and Oracle
    •  Designed and built an integration between two supplier network hubs
    •  Aided in the design, build and continual improvement of Shelby’s Digital Invoice

    Venkat joined The Shelby Group in 2012. He has a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science degree from Shanmugha College of Engineering.

  • Arnaud Colignon
    Head of Digital Invoice

    Arnaud Colignon is the Head of Digital Invoice. He is responsible for leading strategic development, deployment and continuous improvement of Shelby’s smart invoice processing tool. Arnaud monitors day-to-day operations of Digital Invoice to achieve key metrics on quality, on-time delivery and client care.

    His primary focus is implementing our fully automated global invoicing solution with the highest accuracy standards.

    Arnaud has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Audit. Prior to joining Shelby in 2019, he served as a Vice President of Finance and Procurement Shared Services.

  • Kelly Carpenter
    Head of Procurement Operations

    Kelly A. Carpenter (often referred to as KC) joined The Shelby Group in 2017. As the Head of Procurement Operations, she is responsible for overseeing the Procurement Operations department in support of Shelby’s client portfolio, including several Fortune 500 global companies with annual account values of $50M+.

    Kelly supports clients by engaging procurement solutions through setting up and maintenance of their chosen platform. Using her strong drive for leadership, project management, and customer service skills, she oversees the team that is responsible for supplier enablement, catalog enablement, core support services, training, sourcing, and release management for cloud-based software solutions.

    In addition, Kelly became Shelby’s first internal Coupa Certification Trainer in 2018. She now hosts regular training sessions to certify and onboard members of the Shelby team. She also created a 3-pronged development program that is used to upskill Procurement Operations staff.

    Kelly has earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida State University, a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of North Florida, a Master’s of International Business from Université de Provence and a Master’s of Multicultural Communication from Fachhochschule Koeln.

  • Dave King
    Vice President of Sales – East

    Dave King is the Vice President of Sales – East for The Shelby Group. He is responsible for all sales activities in the East and South-Central US.

    Dave has extensive senior management experience in the procurement industry. He has led several procurement groups and global transformations resulting in significant business impacts effecting both commercial and organizational transformations.

    Prior to Shelby, Mr. King managed procurement teams in the manufacturing, consumer goods and distribution industries. As a management consultant, Mr. King has facilitated and directed global strategic sourcing programs and initiatives for a multitude of Fortune 500 companies.

    Initially, Mr. King held a role as a Principal with The Shelby Group, managing the deployment for a number of global eProcurement solutions. He was responsible for managing Shelby’s key strategic accounts, while participating in client executive steering committees and advancing partnerships leveraging his broad range of experience in combining procurement values with authentic strategy to create concrete benefits for his clients.

  • Steve Gulyas
    Vice President of Sales – Central & West

    Steve Gulyas joined The Shelby Group in 2015 to assist with global business development. With a diversified background and experience within multitude of industries, his ultimate goal is providing long-lasting and meaningful partnerships with clients.

    Steve’s focus is on complex global implementations aligned with Procurement Program Optimization to bring measurable business value to Shelby’s customers. His responsibilities include overall global business development, management, recruitment, marketing and alignment with software partners.

    During his tenure with Shelby, he has helped over 50 clients achieve their procurement targets for long-term programmatic outcomes.

    Steve is a graduate of DePaul University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.
