    President and CEO

    John Dreyer brings a unique combination of Fortune 500 management and entrepreneurial leadership experience to his role as President and CEO of The Shelby Group.

    From his vantage point as a finance expert, business executive, information systems practitioner and industry leader, John offers a multidisciplinary perspective on the challenges faced by Shelby’s clients. He has, for example, been instrumental in helping to drive transformation initiatives for clients in a wide variety of industry sectors, including financial services, entertainment and global humanitarian relief. John maintains an active and ongoing dialogue with senior leaders at Shelby client organizations, technology partners and industry groups. Insights from these experiences and relationships have been instrumental in shaping the evolution of Shelby’s services, partnerships, thought leadership and growth.

    John’s diverse career experience includes executive positions for Bank of America, AT&T and Renaissance, a global consulting firm. In 1999, John founded SkilGroup, a company that he nurtured to become one of the fastest growing IT staffing companies in the nation. Indecon Solutions acquired SkilGroup in 2010. John has also served as Board Chairman and President of TechServe Alliance, the IT Services industry’s leading association.

    John earned his bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Cum Laude, from Washington State University where he was a four-year letter winner as a member of the Cougar football team.

  • Jim Kandilas, CPA
    Executive Vice President

    Jim Kandilas is a seasoned veteran and leading innovator in the procurement industry. As Executive Vice President and Principal of The Shelby Group, he plays a key role in helping clients translate their visions for Procurement Optimization into business results through the careful alignment of procurement strategies, processes and technologies.

    Responsible for global oversight of client success, Jim leads and participates in client executive steering committees and advances client partnerships through continuous education and involvement as an industry thought leader. In previous roles, he served in a variety of functions to build the business since inception by developing service offerings, recruiting key talent, and engaging in business development activities.

    Prior to Shelby, Jim worked at a niche, ERP consulting firm as Vice President, in Management Consulting at Coopers & Lybrand, and in Audit with Dean Witter.  He has an Accounting Degree from Northern Illinois University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Jim has contributed numerous Procurement and Supply Chain trade articles, engaged in speaking events, and is a recipient of SDCE’s Pros to Know award.

  • John Yih-Jung Hu
    VP Client Services

    John Hu has been in the Procurement & Supply Chain Management industry since 1999. John’s strategic and technology leadership have played a key role in helping a diverse list of Fortune 500 clients achieve bottom-line results with their Procurement Optimization initiatives.

    John’s numerous innovations include development of best practices for Spend Analytics implementation, utilizing a baseline to drive enterprise-wide performance improvement. His knowledge of upstream and downstream processes spans the breadth of the procurement lifecycle.  With a focus on strategy and bottom-line results, John is a champion of Source-to-Pay technology, with firsthand implementation and audit experience for procurement organizations across a wide variety of industries.

    As VP of Client Services for The Shelby Group, John has drawn on his vast field experience, knowledge and vision to build an exceptional delivery organization and a culture of high-performance managers, consultants, and developers. John holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Illinois.

  • Scott Dever
    Senior Advisor, Sourcing Solutions

    Scott Dever has extensive senior management experience in the procurement industry. He has led several global transformations resulting in broad-based change initiatives and breakthrough cost improvements.

    Scott joined Shelby in 2013 from Xchanging plc, where he was Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Procurement Services in the Americas. Prior to this, Scott held positions as Vice President of Procurement for Motorola, Chief Procurement Officer at Hewitt Associates, Vice President of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing at Sears Holdings, and Vice President of Global Procurement at Hasbro.

    Scott serves as a Senior Advisor to Shelby’s Sourcing Solutions business. He also supports clients in a consulting capacity for delivery of our Category Solutions offering, which helps companies achieve double-digit cost improvement and faster speed to savings across a wide range of indirect spend categories. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Package Engineering from Michigan State University and his MBA from Arizona State University.

  • Dan McConchie
    Senior Advisor,
    Public Sector

    Dan McConchie is an Illinois State Senator and comes to Shelby with extensive non-profit management experience. He has led virtually all operational aspects of non-profit organizational work, and has worked extensively as a strategist in the public sector.

    Dan serves as a Senior Advisor to Shelby’s Public Sector business interests, advising executives inside and outside the company.

    Dan joined Shelby in 2016 from Americans United for Life where he spent the last eleven years in roles from Vice President of Government Affairs to Executive Director. He earned a bachelor’s degree in from Central Bible College and an MA from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

  • David Nakai
    Manager,
    Solution Engineering

    David is a seasoned consultant with 10 years of experience in Ariba technology, ERP consulting and the financial services industry. David excels at project management, business process re-engineering, supplier enablement and change management. Career highlights include a focus on Ariba Systems Development Projects, Ariba System integration, and Ariba and ERP Application Maintenance and Support.

    Drawing on his extensive industry experience and exceptional communication skills, David bridges the gap between business and technology. As Solutions Engineer for The Shelby Group, David plays a key role in initial solutions design for Procurement Optimization initiatives. He has extensive experience in business process design and system requirements gathering for a wide variety of domestic and international clients.

    David is adept at designing solutions that reduce costs, cycle times and risks while improving adoption and stakeholder engagement. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois-Chicago.

  • Dr. Nirup Krishnamurthy
    Senior Advisor

    Dr. Nirup Krishnamurthy is a senior advisor and independent member of the Board of Directors, providing The Shelby Group with insight and guidance on strategy, technology and the C-suite agenda. Nirup is the founder of eBit+, a strategic advisory firm that helps companies improve organizational value creation and EBITDA. Nirup’s previous leadership positions include EVP/Chief Strategy Officer of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, VP/Chief Technology Officer of Northern Trust Corporation and VP/Chief Information Officer of United Air Lines. He holds a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the State University of New York in Buffalo.
